Greetings from Roaring Heights!
We’ve been on vacation in Roaring Heights for a few days and can’t believe we didn’t come here sooner! The pier quickly became our favorite place to eat with its romantic sunsets and proximity to the beach. Once the sun is down, the downtown bustles with activity!
Ever since it’s humble beginnings, the residents of Roaring Heights embraced the art deco style which remains very influential to this city. We adore the pastel and neon lit buildings dotting the beachfront and extravagant skyscrapers with their distinctive style.
We’re loving this place so much that we’ve already begun to look at available real estate. The houses are so unique; we’ve never seen anything like it! It’ll be a blast living here, and we hope you will soon be our neighbor!

Did you know?
Hot Air Balloons are an epic form of travel based around the simple principle that hot air is lighter than cold air. They lift in the air based on the heat system in the balloon. Increasing the temperature of the air inside the balloon makes it lighter than the air outside and the balloon begins to float. More air is required to lift heavier things; that’s why the balloons have to be so huge! How cool (or hot!) is that?

I know what you’re thinking. What does a dead guy know about baking? This dead guy knows it all. I’m Valentine Monty and the Montys have been a part of Monte Vista for as long as anyone can remember. Now that I’ve gotten my second chance I’m giving you all of the “to die for” Monty dishes in my new series: Recipes from the Beyond!
Now here’s the recipe for my world famous Pizza Margherita and it all starts with a fresh lump of dough and a wood fire oven:
- Pull a lump of lightly-oiled dough from your refrigerator.
- Lay the dough on the counter and knead it carefully and thoroughly until fairly flat
- Toss the dough in the air to achieve perfect flatness and perfect lift.
- When the dough is flat, sprinkle it with “Monte Vista Magic Seasonings”. This invisible magic seasoning is a MUST for any wood fire oven recipe.
- Once properly sprinkled use the paddle to place the pizza in the Wood Fire Oven. Safety First!
- Cook until nice and toasty.

Darren Dreamer here, artist in residence to the fabulous town of Lucky Palms! And by artist I mean REAL artist, not the bumming on my best friends couch hopefuls! I am a single adult male whose interests include painting, computer games, and preparing grilled cheese sandwiches. I don’t really enjoy spending much time outdoors, but I do love painting landscapes!
Something I love about our town of Lucky Palms is how many unique and beautiful things there are to paint. Whether it’s the rich orange and reds of the mountains, the desert green on the skin of the cactus, or the rising sun’s reflection on the surface of the lake our surroundings are bursting with natural beauty and vibrant color!

Save Our Princess!
Our princess has gone missing and we need your help! She probably snuck out again at night in search of that fabled Fountain of Youth. Apparently, it’ll make you younger, but I say it’s complete nonsense. I keep telling her these fairy tales don’t exist, yet she just won’t listen to me!
Worse yet, my son Sebastian has been obsessed with finding her and he’s becoming less interested in upholding our family values. This isn’t how our little prince is supposed to behave! How can we possibly win the respect of the citizens of Hidden Springs if our children keep getting into trouble?
Please do what it takes to find our princess. I can’t bear to witness the great Vandenburg family name be sullied any further.

Fear me…ye…scurvy…dog… Alright, so I’m not a pirate. But my great, great, grandparents were. They burned, pillaged, looted and merrily stole treasure. It was a pirate’s life for them! They settled here in Barnacle Bay way back in the day, when the island was more about escaping the authorities and less about escaping the drudgery of everyday life. Even though it’s not really dangerous anymore, Barnacle Bay is an amazing place where people of all types come and find a place in the world where they can nestle.
With beautiful beaches, relaxing campgrounds, plentiful parks and a modern downtown area there’s something for everyone here! I mean, have you seen that restaurant? It’s a boat! A boat that crashed! How crazy is that? Haha! So come along for a visit; you just might find yourself wanting to stay.
